so maybe its coincidental that 2 hard drives can go up in a pile of silcone smoke within a year timeframe but maybe there is a strange little tin-man running around inside my powerbook taking bites outta my toshiba drives. alas, i’ve opted for a little pest control and purchased a speedy hitachi drive. despite what the “lovely” people at the crap mac store told me, i installed it myself. thanks for the heads up dwayne but they are user installable, so what if i had to use a bent paper clip to finish it up. Big thanks for the folks at ifixit.com that took the time to put together loads of powerbook fixes.

in other news, we’re headed to bend this weekend to swim at a couple concerts. ben harper today, beck tomorrow. should be a HOOT, despite the rain.

and finally, we’re teaching a pinhole camera mini-class to the 4th and 5th graders @ cb middle school. besides it raining and tryin to convince a fifth grader to leave the shutter open for 2 full minutes, its rather fun! back for more today and then pshewwww off to bend. cheers. -c
