okay that was a strange experience. but that is i suppose what its about. so a few days back i (c) got volunteered/conned into signing up for a photoshoot @ i.b. difference being i was to be on the wrong side of the lens at this photoshoot. but the ppl were willing to pay and there was a request to surf for 4 or 5 hours so i thought, not a bad way to spend the day. they shoulda been here yesterday. im sweatn bullets @ 1:00 watching the monster sets pound in thinking “i could make it out” ya and then what. well the crew of about 30 shows up @ 3:00 and we scout for the “perfect” shot down the beach. we also learn that we’ll actually only really need to be exiting the water like we’ve just shredded some of these water mountains and are headed back to dry off w/ our merrell towels and place our merrell shoes and merrell clothing back on. “background friends to those that are the foreground shot” became the true defenition of our once “paid-to-surf” dream ticket. alas, i learned quite a few things, met some rather interesting ppl, saw my new camera at work, and got sunburned. look for the two blurry figures toting surfboards like a couple of kooks in the fall edition merrell catalog coming soon! haha good times. thanks to jyanai for being my accomplice! cheers -c
