OnRollOver
With all the touch screens and smartphones with touch capabilities, it seems as if the visual feedback paradigm may shift in the very near future. We’ve been using the same simple javascript for rollovers for about 4 years now (which sounds so long in the realm of internet technology) not because its a do-all be-all but because it works. 99% of the time, it just works.
That said, I haven’t seen the need to change this method until now. Why would we continue to use a rollover when this methodology lends itself to GUI + mouse technology?! With physical interfaces becoming the norm, I forsee rollOver a thing of the early 2000s and thus a piece of the past. Now if I could just figure out feedback vibration for a website I’d be set for another 4.
